On my fourth visit to Epsom hospital, I was getting quite anxious
to know the results of the tissue typing tests for my brother and
I which were sent away on 30th May.
Unfortunately the results came back as negative, meaning there
was no match between my brother and I. I had been preparing myself
for this news, therefore it did not come as a surprise, but it was
disappointing nonetheless. From the outset since diagnosis, I have
learnt to deal with the condition by adopting a rational and pragmatic
approach to all obstacles. This just happens to be another obstacle
which can be overcome.
This means that the search for an unrelated donor must commence,
along with my referral to Hammersmith hospital in London.
